Dyed rice!!!

Coloured rice! Simple. Fun …… sensory play!!! Endless possibilities for all ages!

All you need is rice, a container with lid or zip lock sandwich bag, food dye, rubbing alcohol, hand sanitiser or vinegar.

I usually don’t follow an exact recipe but combine rice, colouring & hand sanitiser and close the bag or container and shake….. shake…. shake, swooosh…. until all the rice is covered and dyed.

Lay out to dry on a tray and dye each colour separately and combine when dry.

We found these gel food colouring from a dollar store but you can use any,  the supermarket ones are a bargain.

It’s going to be another hot day in Sydney today and these ice cub3s are a simple effective way to give the kids some ways to cool down.

We have our frozen pom poms ready made in our square ice cube trays from @kmartaus & @targetaus for $1.50 -$2. Once frozen you can store them in containers or zip lock bags and get them out whenever your ready.

Its handy having them in storage bags or containers  in the freezer, even handy for rainny day activities.

Coloured oats! Simple. Fun …… sensory play!!! Endless possibilities for all ages! We found really cheap bags of oats @colessupermarkets & @woolworths_au for around $1 per bag, so use as many as you’d like!! …….. and our fantastic @kmartaus play tray.

Add any amount of oats to ziplock bag or use Tupperware if you want to aswell and a plastic free option, add food colouring or paint & a splash of alcohol based hand sanitiser,  swish around until oats are covered, lay out on tray to dry, times can vary due to weather temperatures.

Hama beads, fuse beads, also known as perler beads or melty beads are so therapeutic, I notice they bring in stillness, calming, therapeutic for the repetitive motion, especially the larger ones! I’ve noticed these are fantastic for mixed ages too!
