Our wooden tree branches pieces sanded back and using a white posca marker to draw the alphabet. They are dyed with watercolour paints but can also use powdered dyes & paints, they asorb really well. They have been something different to use with spelling activities. They store easily in a pretty jar or our @bunnings box. We have used or little branch pieces for a few things, We cut up big sticks found on the ground, we only use fallen branches and allow them to dry if damp.
